Although USA adds more medals than China, 28 in total, She only has four gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals, which places the North American country in seventh place. The sport that has given her the most medals is swimming. She won gold in the women’s 100-meter butterfly and the men’s 4×100-meter freestyle relay, as well as artistic gymnastics and fencing. One of her stellar performances was that of Simone Biles, the 27-year-old gymnast who won her eighth Olympic medal in Paris 2024.

FIRST OLYMPIC GOLD FOR GUATEMALA
Guatemala won its first ever Olympic gold medal thanks to Adriana Ruano’s victory in the Olympic trap shooting event. This is the second medal for the Guatemalan delegation at this event and the second in shooting, after Jean Pierre Brol’s bronze on Tuesday in the men’s Olympic trap category.
Before Paris 2024, the only medal won by the Central American country at the Olympic Games was the silver medal won by race walker Erick Barrondo in the 20-kilometre race at the 2012 London edition.
“I think that at this moment it is a mixture of emotions. I have not yet magnified what this medal means. I know that it means a lot to the country. Sport has been my life and for the moment I will continue. I am very happy with this achievement and to be able to represent Guatemalan women,” declared the new champion in her press conference after her feat.

MEXICO IN THE PARIS 2024 OLYMPIC MEDAL CHART
At the moment, Mexico has only two Olympic medals: one silver and one bronze in judo and archery, respectively. The country with the tricolor flag is in 31st place.
The first medal was when the Mexican archery delegation, made up of Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez and Ángela Ruiz, faced the Netherlands, where a former Mexican athlete, Gabriela Bayardo, actually competed.
Later, in a historic event, judoka Prisca Awiti won the silver medal in the 63-kilogram category at the Olympic Games after losing to Slovenian Andreja Leski, giving Mexico its first Olympic medal in judo and its second in Paris 2024. N
