[아시아경제 박지환 기자] China has announced that it will start vaccination against the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) from high-risk groups such as medical staff.
Zeng Yi-shin, the deputy head of the China National Health and Health Commission, said at a briefing on the 19th, “The quarantine situation is getting serious as the winter temperature drops.”
Deputy Chief Zeng emphasized that “the goal is to control Corona 19 more effectively as soon as possible by forming a collective immunity (by vaccination).”
For vaccination, priority groups are exposed to infection risk, including workers such as cold chain (low temperature distribution network), customs, medical, fresh food market, and public transportation. Next, it is expected to expand to the general public, following hundreds of millions of elderly and underlying diseases, who are at high risk for infection.
In July, China started a three-type emergency use program for high-risk groups such as medical workers, including two vaccines for Sinopam (Chinese Medicine Group) and vaccine for Sinobac (Cushing Bio). However, it has not yet approved the general use of the Corona 19 vaccine.
