The Chinese Army has accused the authorities of the United States and Canada of “disturbing” the peace in the region with the passage of warships through the Straits of Taiwan.
The press spokesman for the Eastern Theater Command, Colonel Shi Yi, has denounced that last Friday the US guided missile destroyer USS Dewey and the Canadian frigate Winnipeg crossed the Taiwan Strait.
From the point of view of the Chinese authorities, the United States and Canada disturbing and endangering the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, as reported by the CCTV television network.
In addition, from Beijing they have ensured that the Chinese Army troops always maintain a high level and have remarked that the island of Taiwan is part of Chinese territory.
This new situation of tension occurs after at the beginning of October, Taiwan denounced the presence of 56 Chinese military aircraft and almost a hundred incursions into its airspace.
Given this, the United States government warned China about the provocations to the island, and reiterated its “rock solid” commitment to Taiwan. Meanwhile, from China they criticized that the Administration of the president, Joe Biden, was involved in the matter.
“It is necessary that the United States stop supporting the separatist forces that demonstrate in favor of the independence of Taiwan and take concrete steps to safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait,” said the Chinese Foreign Minister, Jua Chunying.
