South African Ambassador to China, HE Siyabonga C. Cwele, has praised the role of China-South Africa bilateral cooperation in promoting the development of South Africa and Africa under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative. Speaking on the tenth anniversary of the joint construction of the initiative, Ambassador Cwele expressed his appreciation for the positive impact of the cooperation between the two countries.

China’s major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics has been advancing in an all-round way, with active participation in global governance and the promotion of various Chinese initiatives. These initiatives include the “Belt and Road” initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. As part of the “Dialogue Ambassadors China’s Responsibility in the Process of Global Governance” series, the “International Micro-Interview” column invited ambassadors from various countries to summarize the results of their cooperation with China under bilateral and multilateral frameworks. Ambassador Cwele emphasized the importance of China-South Africa cooperation in achieving the desired future for Africa.
