China sent dozens of military aircraft into Taiwan’s airspace for the fourth consecutive day

China on Monday sent 56 military aircraft in Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), the airspace access to which is regulated and monitored for national security reasons. The raids are seen as a provocation by the Chinese regime, which considers the island of Taiwan to be part of its territory and has been trying to reunify it for years. It was Monday the fourth consecutive day of Chinese air strikes in the area: in October, China has already sent 149 military aircraft, after having sent 117 in September.

Taiwanese authorities strongly condemned the Chinese air raid, calling it an “irresponsible provocation”. For its part, the Chinese government has said that China “will do everything to annihilate any project of independence on the part of Taiwan” and has also criticized the United States, which are close allies of Taiwan and in recent days had in turn condemned the Chinese air raids.
