China sends medical delegation to North Korea to help Kim Jong-un after rumors of illness – Observer

China sent a team to North Korea that includes experts and doctors to advise the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, with regard to their health status, Reuters agency advances.

In the past few days, a series of confusing and contradictory reports have emerged about the possibility that the North Korean leader is ill. First published in the Daily NK, a newspaper run by North Korean dissidents, the news that Kim Jong-un had been undergoing cardiac surgery it was quickly released by the American press with a more dramatic version, putting the North Korean leader on the verge of death.

Gives South Korea and the China the denial would come, with the two Asian countries revealing that they had no indication to confirm that information.

Now, citing anonymously three people with knowledge of the situation, the Reuters agency reveals that the Chinese regime has sent a delegation with senior officials and doctors to North Korea. The team left Beijing for Pyongyang last Tuesday.

According to Reuters, which says it has not been able to obtain official confirmation from the Chinese authorities, the team sent to North Korea is coordinated by the Chinese Communist Party body responsible for international relations.

According to a South Korean intelligence source cited by the same agency, the North Korean leader is alive and expected to appear in public in the coming days.

The latest report by the official North Korean regime’s media on Kim Jong-un’s activity dates back to April 11, the day when the country’s leader chaired a meeting with members of the North Korean leadership. Since that time Kim Jong-un has not made public appearances – having even failed to celebrate the birthday of Kim Il-sung, his grandfather and considered the country’s “Eternal President”, one of North Korea’s most important national holidays.
