China Says US Continues To ‘Pour Oil’ In Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

BEIJING – China call United States (US) adding fuel to the fire in war Palestine-Israel, instead of taking action to stop the conflict. The remarks came after the US blocked a draft UN statement on the conflict for the third time in a week.

The document calls for the deterioration of the situation, respect for international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians. However, the US also blocked a third draft.

“Members of the council think that the Council should issue a statement to facilitate Palestinian-Israeli negotiations. However, the US, instead of taking active action to stop the clashes, started adding fuel to the fire,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian.

“The US at the UN Security Council finds itself in unprecedented isolation, the opposite of human conscience and morality. The international community is deeply disappointed by the actions of the United States in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict,” he continued, as reported by Sputnik on Wednesday (19/5 / 2021).

Regarding the US decision to continue blocking the UNSC statement regarding the conflict, Foreign Minister Antony Blinken said that the US did not block the path of diplomacy.
