WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States has harmed multilateral cooperation and the World Health Organization in recent years, and should not “point the finger” at China and other countries that have backed the WHO during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese embassy said on Saturday. .
An embassy spokesperson, responding to a statement by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, said China welcomes Washington’s decision to re-engage with the WHO, but should comply to “highest standards” instead of targeting other countries.
Sullivan on Saturday called on China to make data from the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak available, citing “deep concerns” about how the findings of the WHO investigation into the origins of COVID-19 19 have been communicated.
