China bully back United States of America who vowed to intervene if the communist country dared to invade Taiwan.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said he was ready to continue to defend their national interests in Taiwan.
“The Taiwan issue is China’s domestic problem,” said Wang Wenbin, Monday (23/5), quoted from AFP.
“No one should underestimate the strong determination, steadfast will and strong ability of the Chinese people to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he continued.
“When it comes to issues related to sovereignty and territorial integrity, China has no room for compromise and concessions.”
This statement came shortly after US President Joe Biden promised to defend Taiwan’s military if China invaded the island.
When asked if Washington was willing to help Taiwan’s military defend itself, Biden acknowledged that.
“That is the commitment we made,” Biden said when meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo, Monday (23/5).
“We agree with the One China policy, we signed it. But the idea that it was taken by force is not appropriate, it will destroy the whole region, and will be another action similar to Ukraine,” he said.
In addition, Biden said Beijing had begun to move to “step into danger” because it carried out maritime military exercises and developments in areas near Taiwan.
China itself has never controlled Taiwan, but sees the island as part of its territory.
