BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) – The National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced in its daily report on Saturday that two new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported in Yunnan on Friday.
In addition, 28 new imported cases were reported, with 11 in Yunnan, five in Hunan, four in Fujian, three in Shanghai, two each in Zhejiang and Shaanxi, and one in Guangdong.
As of Friday, a total of 6,952 imported cases were reported in mainland China. Of these, 6,483 were discharged from hospital after recovery, while 469 continued to be treated in the hospital. No deaths were reported among the imported cases.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in mainland China reached 92,213 as of Friday. Of these, 538 patients were treated, 12 with severe disease.
A total of 87,039 patients were discharged from hospital in mainland China after recovering, while 4,636 died from complications from the virus.
There were no suspected COVID-19 cases in mainland China on Friday.
20 new cases with no apparent symptoms were also reported on Friday, with the infection occurring outside of mainland China in all cases. A total of 444 asymptomatic cases, including 439 imported ones, were under medical observation on Friday.
As of Friday, 11,956 confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, including 212 deaths. There were 55 cases in the Macau Special Administrative Region and 15,378 cases and 763 deaths were reported in Taiwan.
A total of 11,677 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital in the Hong Kong SAR, 53 in the Macau SAR and 12,131 in Taiwan.
