Government Officials Russia mention China refused requests to supply aircraft spare parts aka airline parts in Russia. This happens because the world’s main suppliers of spare parts such as Boeing and Airbus has stopped supplying its components to the country.
Quoted from Reutersthe corporate action of the two world airline companies to stop their supplies to Russia due to the massive invasion carried out in Ukraine since last Thursday (24/2).
Currently, the Russian aviation sector is increasingly under pressure from Western sanctions. The Russian Foreign Ministry has warned that the safety of passenger flights is under threat due to the limited supply of spare parts.
Rosaviatsia official, Russia’s federal aviation authority, Valery Kudinov said his country would still look for opportunities to procure spare parts from other countries including Turkey and India.
He also said Russian companies registered their planes abroad after Russia was subjected to US and European Union sanctions in the field of aviation. They hope that the aircraft registered abroad expects to be returned to the company leasing.
Separately, the Russian government has drafted a law showing it is planning to order domestic airlines to lease planes in rubles.
Not only that, the regulation can also prohibit airlines from returning planes to foreign companies if the lease is cancelled.
Previously, the United States, European Union and Canada had banned Russian airlines from crossing their skies. As a result, the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing also temporarily suspended its operations in the country.
Not to forget, Airbus, an aircraft manufacturer from France, has also stopped the supply of spare parts and repairs for their aircraft.
