China push the step Russia to Ukraine as an invasion and urged all parties to refrain from responding to the martial law situation in Eastern Europe.
The statement that Russia’s action was not an invasion was made by Chinese Ministry Spokesperson, Hua Chunying, in Beijing.
“You are using the typical Western media questioning method using the word invasion,” Hua said.
“China is closely monitoring the latest situation. We call on all parties to restrain themselves so that the situation does not get out of control,” he was quoted as saying by Reuters.
When questioned, Hua also stated that China did not play a role in providing weapons in the two -state conflict.
Russian President, Vladimir Putin, ordered special military operations in the east, which was also later interpreted as permission to invade Ukraine.
Following Putin’s order, explosions were heard in Ukrainian cities. Gun battles are inevitable. Russia and Ukraine exchange fire.
This situation has sparked a number of countries to curse and plan to punish Russia.
The incident comes weeks after Putin met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to announce a strategic partnership aimed at countering US influence.
China is expected to support Russia diplomatically and possibly economically in the event of an invasion of Ukraine, but not militarily.
Previously, China’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, urged all parties to remain level-headed in responding to the crisis situation after Russia officially invaded Ukraine.
