China records 765 million domestic tourist trips during National Day holidays

BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) — China recorded 765 million domestic tourist trips during the National Day holiday week ending Monday, marking a year-on-year rise of 5.9 percent, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.

The figure represents an increase of 10.2 percent compared to the same period in 2019, according to the portfolio.

The spending volume of domestic tourists exceeded 700 billion yuan (about 99.3 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.3 percent and a growth of 7.9 percent compared with 2019. , according to the same source.
