China put into orbit an experimental satellite for remote sensing of the Earth – the Government Courier

China has successfully launched the Shiyan-19 experimental Earth remote sensing satellite into Earth orbit.

As reported by Ukrinform, Xinhua reported this.

The satellite was launched from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in the north of the country using the Long March-11 launch vehicle, which became the 16th successful launch of this launch vehicle in a row.

The start took place at 13:41 Kyiv time.

The Shiyan-19 satellite was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and is intended for land surveying, urban planning and natural disaster prevention.

The Long March-11 four-stage solid-fuel launch vehicle is about 21 meters long and weighs 57.7 tons. Its maximum diameter reaches two meters. It is designed for launching small spacecraft into low Earth orbit with a payload capacity of up to 500 kg.

As UkrinNagadayoform reported, on March 13, China successfully launched a new Earth remote sensing satellite from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in the northwest of the country using a Long March-2C launch vehicle.
