The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has now presented a five-year plan for how the country will become the world’s innovation center for robots by 2025.
To succeed in this, the country will work to achieve breakthroughs in the manufacture of key robotic components such as servomotors and controls. The country will also invest in increasing the use of smart machines in more sectors such as car manufacturing, railways, aviation and mining, reports Zdnet.
In the past year, China’s robot manufacturing density has been 246 units per 10,000 inhabitants, which is close to double the global average. The plan is now to double the figure until 2025. The expectation is that revenues from the robotics industry will be able to grow on average by 20 percent between 2021 and 2025.
