In the first quarter of this year, China overtook Japan and Germany and became the world’s largest car exporter for the first time. China exported a total of 1.069 million cars.
From January to April this year, Chinese auto companies exported 1.37 million vehicles, and in April alone, monthly exports reached 376,000 vehicles, up 3.3 percent month-on-month and up 170 percent year-on-year, according to the China Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Tesla China, SAIC, Chery, Geely, Changan and Great Wall Motors are major Chinese auto exporters.
Regarding the most prominent markets that imported Chinese cars in the first quarter of 2023, the data referred to Russia, the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Japan, Australia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.
