Beijing voiced its concerns to Washington over the situation around Ukraine

All parties must remain calm and not do anything that could stimulate tension, according to the PRC.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to discuss the situation around Ukraine, reports Xinhua on Thursday, January 27th.
“The Minsk agreements, approved by the UN Security Council, are the main political document recognized by all parties and must be implemented in practice. China will support any efforts that are consistent with the direction and spirit of these agreements,” the message says.
The Chinese foreign minister urged all parties to remain calm and not do anything that could stimulate tension or fan the crisis.
Wang Yi stressed that the security of one country cannot be achieved because of the harm to the security of others, and regional security can be guaranteed by strengthening or even expanding military blocs.
According to him, in the 21st century, all parties must completely abandon the Cold War mentality and form a balanced, effective and sustainable European security mechanism through negotiations, and “Russia’s legitimate security concerns must be taken seriously and addressed.”
