China must be given the opportunity to dispatch vaccines

This Thursday, the Minister of Public Health and Social Assistance, Daniel Rivera, reiterated that in the coming days, possibly the other vaccines against COVID-19 will begin to arrive, to apply the first dose to another population group.

Rivera said that they have already made the payment and that the procedures are carried out by China. “And we have to help and cooperate with them, because, remember that we have bought from other (laboratories) and they have not sent us, and they (the Chinese) have cooperated,” said the official.

“We have to give their opportunity to be dispatched,” added Rivera prior to participating in the swearing-in of the Public Institutions Volunteer Management Committee, at the National Palace.

The minister said that this Thursday the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine began to be applied to all health personnel.

On March 18, the day the first batch of one million Sinovac doses arrived, plus a donation of 50,000 units from the Sinopharm march and 51,200 syringes, Vice President Raquel Peña said that the second shipment would arrive as soon as the permits were received from export in the Asian country, scheduled for the end of March.
