The China Internet Media Forum 2024 opened Saturday in Kunming, capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province.
The two-day event, themed “Embark on a new expedition and take on a new mission,” has brought together government officials, media representatives and delegates from internet companies to engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as the new challenges and tasks in online content development, and the new perspectives and directions for future development.
Yunnan will continue to actively integrate resources such as talent, technology, content and platforms to create better conditions for online media, Wang Ning, secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, said at the event.
It is necessary to redouble efforts to promote the integrated development of Internet media, adhere to reform and innovation, and master technological advances and transformative changes, Zhuang Rongwen, head of the Central Commission Office, said at the forum. of Cyberspace Affairs.
Fu Hua, president of Xinhua News Agency, indicated at the forum that the Internet is an important stage for the cultivation of new quality productive forces and a key platform for the development of high-quality media.
He stressed the importance of developing new quality productive forces in the era of mobile internet, as well as the need to improve productivity in the media industry.
The forum includes seven activities that cover areas such as internet culture and media innovation.
This year’s event is organized by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, Xinhua News Agency and the Yunnan provincial cyberspace committee.
