The Chinese authorities have managed to apply an average of five million daily doses against the coronavirus in the last week, compared to one million vaccines given in early 2021, in an attempt to match the vaccination rate of the United States.
However, while this is a significant increase, it assumes that five doses are administered per 100 people, compared to 25 in the United States and 56 in Israel, according to Bloomberg data.
This Monday, the Chinese authorities have confirmed 20 new local cases detected in Yunnan province – five of them asymptomatic -, to which are added another 35 imported infections of the disease.
In the last 24 hours, nine people have been discharged from hospital after managing to overcome COVID-19.
China adds 5,352 imported cases of coronavirus, of which 5,163 have been discharged after their recovery and 189 patients remain hospitalized.
To this is added that, in total and to date, the Asian country has accumulated 90,305 positives, including 238 cases that are still receiving medical treatment, of which two are in serious condition, and 85,431 people who have overcome it. .
In contrast, there are 4,636 deaths as a result of the virus and 304 asymptomatic cases remain low.
As for Hong Kong, the territorial entity has 11,508 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 205 deaths.
