The Chinese government lifted entry restrictions related to the novel coronavirus after nearly three years on 8.
As a result, visitors to China, including domestic and foreign visitors, are no longer required to undergo mandatory quarantine after entering Korea, provided they present a negative DNA amplification certificate (PCR) proving they are not infected from COVID-19 48 hours before entry.
Since March 2020, the Chinese government has implemented mandatory quarantine measures for all arrivals in the name of protecting Chinese citizens from the novel coronavirus.
In particular, the quarantine period was implemented up to 3 weeks, but recently the period was reduced to 3 days of self-isolation after 5 days of quarantine in the facility.
However, when protests erupted in the country alongside strong criticism of this closed corona zero policy, the Chinese government announced last month that it would abolish the mandatory quarantine system from 8.
As restrictions were lifted on the same day, many Hong Kongers entered China by air, land and sea.
China and Hong Kong have announced they will gradually increase the size after allowing 60,000 people every day to pass through seven checkpoints in both sides’ border area.
The Chinese government was allowing 600,000 people a day to and from Hong Kong before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
As a result, travelers from both sides can visit at any time by submitting a negative certificate on the gene amplification PCR test and making a reservation through the website 48 hours before departure.
However, as many countries, including the United States and South Korea, are tightening entry restrictions for attendees from China due to the explosion of coronavirus infections in China, the number of travelers from and towards China increases immediately.
