China launches the third satellite of the Yunhai-1 family of “environmental sensing”.


China launched this Wednesday new satellite into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi desert in northwest China, the Chinese news agency reported. Xinhua.

The Yunhai-1 (03) satellite was launched at 7:15 am Beijing time aboard a Long March-2D rocket and “successfully entered planned orbit”.

The Yunhai-1 (03), which in Chinese means Sea of ​​Snow, “will be used primarily for the detection of atmospheric, marine and space environments, disaster prevention and mitigation and scientific experiments”.

The satellite was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Flight Technology (SAST) and the first of the Yuhai-1 family, 01, was put into orbit in November 2016, while the second, on 02, in September 2019.

The launch marked the 438th mission of the Long March rocket family.
