/ world today news/ China has introduced a number of policies to stabilize the scale of foreign trade and improve its structure against the backdrop of instability, risks and other challenges, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said yesterday.
To maintain a stable scale of foreign trade, China will make efforts to create more opportunities and support foreign trading companies, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen said at a press conference.
The country will restore existing exhibitions and encourage the resumption of international passenger flights, issue country-specific trade guidelines, help car manufacturers improve their international marketing and service systems, increase financing for medium, small and micro enterprises. In addition, China will formulate green and low-carbon standards for some export products, provide guidance for companies to better use cross-border e-retail, and improve the efficiency of customs clearance, Wang Shouwen added.
China’s foreign trade since the beginning of 2023 has stabilized, with total merchandise imports and exports increasing by 4.8% year-on-year in the first three months.
