China invites journalists to cover annual ‘Two Sessions’

The National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s top legislature, and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country’s national political advisory body, invite journalists from home and abroad to cover their annual sessions to be held in March, according to an official statement released Thursday.

The first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee will begin on March 4, and the first session of the 14th NPC will open on March 5.

Media coverage of both sessions may be provided through a variety of means, including on-site reports, video links and written forms. Chinese and foreign journalists in Beijing are welcome to participate in reporting activities, said the statement jointly issued by the general offices of the NPC Standing Committee and the CPPCC National Committee.

Foreign journalists are also invited to cover the events by video link or written form, the statement said.
