China imposed sanctions on US politicians

Restrictions imposed due to “misconduct” in relation to Hong Kong

These are mirrored Chinese sanctions against seven individuals and entities in the United States.

The Chinese authorities have imposed sanctions against seven American politicians and organizations because of their “wrong actions” against Hong Kong, writes TASS, referring to the message of the PRC Foreign Ministry.

In particular, the list included the chairman of the Chinese Commission on Economy and Security at the Congress Carolyn Bartholomew, Deputy Head of the Executive Commission of the Congress on China Jonathan Stivers, former US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Chairman of the US National Democratic Institute Kim Do Yun, Plenipotentiary of the International Republican Institute in Hong Kong Adam King, Director of the China Department at Human Rights Watch Sophie Richardson and the Hong Kong Democracy Committee.

“In response to the erroneous actions of the American side, China decided to impose mirror sanctions. In accordance with the Anti-China Sanctions Law, China is imposing sanctions against seven US individuals and organizations,” the statement said.
