All flights were cancelled, subway trains were slowed or stopped, businesses were closed due to this natural phenomenon.
The typhoon hit Putuo District in Zhousan, a port city on the east coast of Zhejiang Province, at 12:30 (11:30 GMT), state broadcaster CCTV, citing the China Meteorological Agency, reported.
The storm hit as central China was still hit by floods that killed at least 58 people, cut power and displaced one million people.

Typhoon In-fa moved north along the Zhejiang coast from noon, passing Shanghai and reaching northeastern Jiangsu Province in the evening.
