The report published by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade indicated that major exhibitions, including the International import expo, the Canton Fair, the China International Services Trade Fair and the China International Consumer Goods Expo have become well-established international platforms for the development of comprehensive cooperation, as well as a place for countries around the world to share partnership opportunities.
A total of 755 light industry exhibitions took place last year. The most popular sectors were food, beverages, tobacco and alcohol, furniture, woodworking machinery and construction materials.
With the recovery of China’s economy, exhibitions and fairs dedicated to the promotion of traditional consumption, the development of services, the cultivation of new consumption and the development of sustainable, green, low-carbon products and services are expected to register rapid growth.
