Taipei China has been provoking the island republic of Taiwan with warships and military jets. According to the Taiwanese defense ministry, 71 Chinese aircraft and seven vessels were located near Taiwan within 24 hours of 6am on Monday morning.

47 aircraft crossed the central line of the Taiwan Strait. The strait separates Taiwan from mainland China. The exercises showed that the Beijing government is destroying regional peace and trying to intimidate the Taiwanese people, the Taipei government said.

China announced on Sunday that it has held military maneuvers in the region. Exercises have been held in the sea and airspace near Taiwan, the People’s Liberation Army Eastern Command said.

It is a “firm response” to the “current escalation and provocation” by the United States and Taiwan. The US Congress approved the government’s new budget on Friday, which also includes new loans for Taiwan. The US budget law includes enhanced cooperation with Taiwan and India on defense technologies, logistics and operational readiness.
