China-Gabon: President Oligui Nguema visits China’s largest hydropower industry – AGP

Jiangsu, September 7, 2024 (AGP) – At the end of his visit to China, made during the 9th Forum on Sino-African Cooperation (FOCAC), the President of the Republic, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema , He visited, this Saturday 07 in Jiangsu, the Nari Group corporation, which is known as the largest player in the hydropower industry in China, it was noted.

The aim of this trip was to investigate other solutions to improve the electricity distribution system in Gabon.

Nari Corporation is a Chinese company that specializes in the transformation and distribution of environmentally friendly energy, especially for regions with electricity supply problems. It provides intelligent and autonomous electric equipment, such as electric meters, generators called “mobile stations”, as well as other products promoting a reliable and sustainable energy resource. To date, nearly 130 countries around the world have benefited from Nari’s services.

Aware of what this company could contribute to Gabon in strengthening energy autonomy, the Gabonese head of state saw in this trip an opportunity for win-win cooperation that could help to improving the country’s electricity distribution system, especially in Greater Libreville which is currently affected by frequent power cuts.

“We are in a unique situation in Greater Libreville, with all the load shedding we are experiencing for many reasons. The Head of State took advantage of this trip to China to find this factory that offers several solutions,” said Jeannot Kalima, Minister of Energy and Hydraulic Resources.

In order to find urgent solutions, President Oligui Nguema stressed that at the end of this visit, research teams will be deployed in China in the coming days. Their intention is to work with the Nari Group to identify specific options that will solve the energy problems facing Gabon.
