China draws a red line to the US

The Taiwan issue is a red line in Sino-US relations that must not be crossed. This was announced on Tuesday during a meeting with the head of the Pentagon Lloyd, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe, TASS reports today, November 22, quoting a message from the Chinese Defense Ministry on the WeChat social network.

The meeting of the heads of the military departments of China and the United States took place on the sidelines of the meeting of the defense ministers of the ASEAN member countries with the dialogue partners in Cambodia.

“The Taiwan issue is the focus of China’s key interests, as well as the first red line in Sino-US relations that cannot be crossed,” Wei Fenghe said.

He warned his American counterpart that the Chinese military has the strength, confidence and all the capabilities necessary to ensure the unification of the country.

“The People’s Liberation Army of China has the fortitude, strength, confidence and all the necessary capabilities to resolutely support the unification of the motherland. Any further US moves on Taiwan will be countered by China with strong countermeasures.” Wei Fenghe added.

China’s defense minister stressed that the United States “emasculates, dilutes and distorts the one-China principle.”
