VIVA – Scientist China have ideas send dozens rocket to fight asteroid potentially hitting Earth. The effort is aimed at Asteroid Bennu, a spinning top rock with a diameter of 492 meters, which will pass within 7.5 million kilometers of Earth’s orbit between 2175 and 2199.
The space rock will be designated a potentially hazardous object for now. Scientists estimate the risk is 1:2,700 colliding with Earth.
In newly published research, experts at China’s National Center for Space Science have proposed launching a fleet of rockets into space to simulate the diversion of an asteroid from Earth.
