[January 13, CGTN Japanese]The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is inundated with applications from airlines to resume international flights due to China’s major adjustments to its new corona measures on the 10th, and the approval process is in a hurry.
From January 8th, when the Civil Aviation Administration of China started accepting applications for the resumption of international flights, by January 10th, about 700 weekly passenger flights from about 40 domestic and foreign airlines connecting with 34 countries. It means that there was an application for the operation plan. Most of them aim to resume operations from late January to February.
The department has also resumed accepting applications for charter flights and private jets to meet business demand.
On the other hand, regarding the outlook for the recovery of the international air passenger transport market, a source close to the bureau said, “The resumption of international flights depends on the speed of recovery in demand, the arrangement of transportation capacity, the adjustment of time schedules, and the approval of domestic and foreign aviation authorities. It is affected by multiple factors such as these, and preparations will require a relatively long period of time,” he said. It will take time to recover, and it will lag behind the recovery of the domestic aviation market.” (c)CGTN Japanese/AFPBB News
