The financial firm China Renaissance Holdings has announced in a statement sent to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that its founder, CEO and main shareholder, the billionaire Bao Fan, who has not been heard from since mid-February, is collaborating with the authorities in an investigation.
“The board has been made aware that Bao is currently cooperating in an investigation being carried out by certain authorities in the People’s Republic of China,” the entity reported.
On February 17, the company had issued a statement acknowledging that it had not been able to contact Bao Fan recently.
In this sense, the board of directors of China Renaissance has stressed that the firm’s business and operations continue normally and has assured that it will duly cooperate and assist the authorities with any legal request.
