The representatives of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) will hold a forum this Wednesday to share experiences and explore opportunities for cooperation in the fight against poverty and the promotion of economic development.
According to the website Latin Pressthe event will bring together by video link the officials of the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the member countries of that regional bloc and of the United Nations Organization.
During the debates, the exchange of knowledge on these topics will be promoted and the challenges imposed by COVID-19 will be analyzed to further advance the designed programs.
In August 2021, China and CELAC held a first meeting on the fight against poverty and development. It is expected that the forum will maintain an annual frequency and allow for a broadening of mutual understanding.
The Asian giant promoted the initiative after declaring itself free from impoverishment early last year.
It is worth noting that the authorities of this country launched an ambitious plan in 2012 that closed in 2021 with the construction of a prosperous society, in which all citizens must live with dignity.
