/View.info/ The 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) is being held in Dubai. It will take the first global stocktake of the Paris Agreement and assess the progress made towards the Paris Agreement goals.
On December 9, the Chinese delegation held its first press conference. Xie Zhenghua, China’s Special Envoy on Climate Change, presented the latest results of the conference negotiations. He said intensive consultations between the parties have led to positive progress and China is confident that a solution will be found. He added that the conference is now in its second week and climate change negotiations have moved from the technical to the political level, with ministerial consultations taking place.
“We have to deal with the most important issues and resolve them. The Paris Agreement indicates the general direction of the global “green” and low-carbon transformation and clarifies the path of the transformation. Energy transformation is important, but the national conditions of individual countries are different, and the energy structure and resource provision also differ. In order for the transformation to proceed smoothly, it is necessary to ensure energy, food and economic security,” Zhenghua added.
