China calls for easing and cooling of the situation in Ukraine

In the UN Security Council, China has called for an easing and cooling of the situation in Ukraine.

Zhang Jun, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said at an interim session on the situation in Ukraine at the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday that the international community should seek consensus in the current situation, despite numerous difficulties and challenges , the space for cooperation and play a constructive and responsible role in promoting the easing of the situation, the resumption of diplomatic negotiations as soon as possible and mitigate the impact of the crisis.

China supports the UN secretary-general and his team in continuing to play a coordinating role in solving Russia’s food and fertilizer export difficulties, Zhang said. China also urges relevant parties to take vigorous measures to eliminate the negative impact of the sanctions.
