Since the 12th, Chinese authorities have completely banned BBC World News, the international professional TV channel of the BBC. China took retaliation a week after the UK canceled its broadcast license in the UK for China’s English broadcast channel, China International Television (CGTN).
On the 11th, China’s National Radio and Television Administration (Optoelectronics Administration) criticized the BBC World News’s ban on broadcasting, saying, “(BBC) violated Chinese regulations seriously.” In addition, the General Bureau of Optoelectronics argued that “the BBC has damaged China’s national image through distorted reports about Xinjiang Weiwu and fake news about Corona 19 since last December.”
