/ world today news/ China and Uzbekistan have decided to develop a permanent strategic partnership in the new era and build a China-Uzbekistan community of shared destiny from a higher starting point. This was announced yesterday in Beijing by the Chinese President Xi Jinping and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is currently on a state visit to China.
During the conversation, the Chinese leader pointed out that the two countries have maintained traditional friendship since the time of the ancient Silk Road, and the relationship between them is based on sincerity and mutual trust. In the future, the two countries can support each other in the joint construction of “One Belt, One Road” and implement in practice the projects for trade and economic cooperation in the medium and long term.
“Uzbekistan firmly adheres to the principle of ‘one China’, firmly opposes the interference of foreign powers in China’s internal affairs, and is ready to support Beijing on issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang, human rights, etc.” said the President of Uzbekistan.
After the conversation, the two heads of state signed the Joint Declaration of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Uzbekistan on Permanent Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the New Era and participated in the signing ceremony of a number of cooperation agreements.
