During their conversation, Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Russia are the most important neighboring countries and permanent members of the UN Security Council, and share many common interests. Beijing is willing to continue to deepen relations of good-neighborliness, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutual benefit, he said.
Xi Jinping stressed that strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries plays an important role in the stable development of China-Russia relations. He expressed hope that the State Duma of Russia and the National People’s Congress of China will strengthen the exchange of legislative experience, provide more complete legal support for cooperation between the two countries, and ensure the good relationship between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union and to deepen exchange and coordination within multilateral platforms such as the SCO, BRICS and G-20.
