The Chinese women’s team played Japan in the gold fight on Thursday, and the Chinese men’s team did the same day with Germany, winning the final 3-0.
The Chinese national team was Xin Xiu, Jandon Fan and Lon Ma, who also won the fifth gold medal in Tokyo.
Ma and Xiu defeated Patrick Francisco and Timo Boll 3-0 (11: 7, 11: 3, 11: 9). Then Jandon Fan defeated Dmitry Ovcharov 3-2 (3:11, 11: 6, 9:11, 11: 5, 11: 3), but in the decisive game Ma with 3-1 (11: 5, 11: 9, 11 : 13 11: 7) played Boll.
Since the men’s team competition was included in the Olympic Games in 2008, the Chinese have consistently been the winners.
The host of the Olympic Games, Japan, won the bronze medal, defeating South Korea 3-1.
The victory secured Japan the second bronze medal in the table tennis tournament. The Japanese account also includes gold for winning the mixed doubles and silver for the women’s team competitions.
China ended the table tennis competition in Tokyo with four gold and three silver medals.
Silver and bronze were for Germany, another for bronze – Taiwan and Hong Kong.
