The weather is chilly today. We will have to deal with showers, there is a lot of wind and there may be wet snow or hail. Code yellow is in force in the north and west this afternoon and evening due to (very) heavy gusts of wind.
The wind comes from the northwest, which causes quite a few showers in our country. We may even experience wet snow or hail. We may also experience thunderstorms.
Between those showers we occasionally see the sun. But it’s not really tasty. Because the wind comes from the northwest, it is very chilly. It will be a maximum of 6 to 9 degrees.
Especially at the end of the afternoon and in the evening we experience problems with the wind. Wind force 8 applies at sea, wind force 9 possible in the Wadden area. During the showers, wind gusts of 75 kilometers per hour are possible throughout the country. The coastal provinces can prepare for wind gusts of 90 kilometers per hour, the north coast even for wind gusts of 110 kilometers per hour.
Those showers will continue tonight. The east and southeast in particular may experience hail and thunder. Some showers will fall in the north during the night to Saturday. The minimum temperature is around 5 degrees.
It will remain changeable in the coming days, although the temperature will gradually drop. The chance of real winter weather will increase next week.
