From January 9 to 13, the Real Madrid 2024 Foundation Clinic will be held at the Colegio Alemán in Chillán.
The initiative is born from the joint alliance between the host school and TMF Sports, official partner of the Madrid cast, which is a sporting event production company that promotes and organizes the Real Madrid Foundation Clinics in Chile, both for the discipline of football and Basketball.
The project will allow young people between 6 and 18 years old, from Chillán and the entire Ñuble Region, to participate in five days of sports activities, which will be carried out by Mikel Lasa, coach of the Real Madrid Foundation and former teammate of Iván Zamorano in the White House.
Jorge Álvarez, Executive Director of TMF Sports, explained that “with the sports clinic already installed in Chillán, it would be the tenth project launched that is being carried out in Chile, with a presence from the city of Antofagasta to Puerto Montt. In total, a number of 800 athletes have participated and more than 200 physical education teachers have been trained to date.”
The Executive Director also indicated how the influence of a coach brought from Spain can positively affect the athlete’s performance. “The above translates into greater motivation on the part of the young people when a coach from Spain arrives, individually corrects the young man’s imperfections and guides him with instructions that express what aspects the player must continue working on,” he emphasized. .
The sports clinic consists of two parallel projects, the first will be its execution from January 9 to 13 at the Colegio Alemán facilities, and the second consists of sending a delegation of young people to Madrid to learn in depth about all the sports facilities of the merengue team.
In this regard, Felipe Rössler, Director of the Alemán School, commented that there are two projects in the pipeline between the Chillanejo establishment and the Real Madrid Foundation, to start another sports clinic, this time in the discipline of basketball, for the beginning of 2025.
“Our intention is to hold a sports clinic with the discipline of basketball for the first time in Chile by 2025. This will consist of two linked projects, the purpose of which is to first carry out the sports activity in Chillán, and then take a delegation of young people to Madrid so that they can train with the lower divisions of the Real Madrid adult team,” Rössler concluded.
