According to astronauts who grow plants in space, fruits grow more slowly than on Earth. The reasons for this are unknown. However, relevant research is important for humanity in the case of long-term space missions.
I loved getting my hands on the pepper plants and pollinating them! I felt a much higher-than-usual level of focus compared to tending plants on Earth. Of course I played Red Hot Chili Peppers for them! See why we are growing this complicated crop: https://t.co/7YJ8yfrRfP pic.twitter.com/8MnpLVbYoA

It is noted that the cultivation took place in a special Advanced Plant Habitat module. A feature of the device is that it can be controlled remotely. Pollination was carried out in two ways: manually and remotely thanks to the module. Despite the success, it turned out that not all fruits developed.
The second crop is planned to be harvested in half a year.
Today, scientists are trying to investigate how big the fruit will be in microgravity.
