On October 10, an adult over 70 years old was the victim of a violent robbery at her home in the Metropolitan Region of Chile. Around four criminals entered his house after breaking the door.
The affected woman, Gloria De Vicenzi Salva, recounted the incident where she revealed that she tried to talk to one of the criminals and even hugged one, but she was still assaulted and threatened by the youngest of the gang with a screwdriver.
This news reached President Nayib Bukele, who reacted to the event through his X account and wrote, “What is happening in Chile is incredible, the country that all Latin Americans looked to as an example. What’s happening? Why do they destroy it like this?”, in reaction to the video of the lady’s interview.
The newscast commented on the Salvadoran president’s reaction to the old woman, and she said: “I think it’s wonderful that a President can care about a 70-something-year-old woman, who the only thing she is asking for is peace for her country,” and added that she would like a Bukele for two months just to put things in order, “I want the Chile that I knew,” she emphasized.
“I thank President Bukele, if this President (Boric) had a gut like him, I would ask him to stay in Chile for a month,” he said.
