The Chilean team started its participation in the Venezuelan Pre-Olympic Tournament on the wrong foot. It was a triumph for Peru and La Roja started off complicated.

The Chilean under 23 team entry mortgage their qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. La Roja directed by Nicolas Cordova lost 1-0 to Peru for the debut in Group B of the Venezuelan Pre-Olympic Tournament. The Pacific Classic was for the Incas.
Although La Roja had greater control than the Incas and the clearest, Peru knew how to take advantage of the almost only scoring opportunity it had. The match was played at the Misael Delgado stadium, in the town of Valencia.
The first clear shot went to Chile with a left-footed shot. Lucas Assad from the crescent that went just wide in the 9′. In the 11th minute La Roja had the goal with Lucas Cepeda’s free kick, but goalkeeper Diego Romero flew to send it into the corner.
In the 43rd minute, after an arrival from Luciano Arriagada, Assadi sent it high from the side of the Peruvian goal. And in stoppage time, before the break, César Pérez scored a deflected header inside the area.
The only goal and sent off in Peru
Already in the second half, the Peruvian goalkeeper was brilliant to stop with one hand, below, another left-footed shot by Assadi from the border of the crescent (50′), when all of Chile began to shout what seemed like a great goal.
When the clock showed 63′, Damián Pizarro, who had just entered from the bench, was close to scoring. However, bailing Romero prevented the Chilean conquest.
The Peruvian goal came in the 66th minute, in the first and only clear goal for the Incas: Franchesco Flores dominated the ball in the area, hooked it towards the center and with a powerful shot made it 0-1 against Chile. In the final minutes La Roja had one more player on the field due to the expulsion of Mathías Llontop (86′).
In the other duel on the first date of Group B, the Argentine team will face its counterpart from Paraguay. Uruguay had a free time.
Chile’s next match, forced to win, will be for the third date of Group B of the Pre-Olympic against Uruguay. On the second day La Roja has a free time.
