Chile reports 1,455 new COVID-19 cases, 934 symptomatic and 104 asymptomatic, with a total of 5,265,894 cases.

According to a new report from the Ministry of Health, of the 1,455 new cases of Covid-19, 934 correspond to symptomatic people and 104 do not present symptoms.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the country reaches 5,265,894. Of this total, 4,642 patients are in the active stage, considering a 5-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,172,987.

In addition, 417 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

Regarding the deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (Deis), in the last 24 hours there were 14 deaths from causes associated with Covid-19.

At the moment, 73 people were hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 46 remained with mechanical ventilation support.

Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 313 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 15,401 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 49,061,205 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 7.47% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 8.01%.

On the other hand, according to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Ñuble, Biobío and Antofagasta. Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Ñuble, Aysén and O’Higgins.

Regarding the Health Residences, there are 3 accommodation facilities with a total of 133 beds. The actual occupancy at the national level is 35%, leaving a total of 62 beds available for use.
