Children’s vocal studio “Knīpas un knauķi” is preparing for the 50th anniversary concert, which will take place on September 4 in Dzintari Concert Hall. The concert will feature the most popular songs and excerpts from various performances and concert programs created over fifty years.
Edīte Putniņa, the head of the children’s vocal studio “Knīpas un knauķi”, says: “Personally, the most important thing for me has always been to teach children how to create well-being in life. We, “Bumps and Snookers”, smile a lot, because with the song we are able to overcome some sorrow, problem in life. ” The bird is convinced that the song heals.
Sanita Sējāne, the head of the children’s vocal studio “Knīpas un knauķi”, the concert choreographer herself, has not been a “knīpa” herself, but her husband has been a “knauķis”, and all three children have worked in the vocal studio. She is convinced: “The main thing we teach them is to love the stage, to love singing, to be sensitive, to be sincere towards each other; there is no competition here, there is no need to run disciplines and win gold medals, you have to feel good together here. ”
The concert’s director, set designer and choreographer Inga Ceipe is also convinced that it will be a fantastic journey with the atmosphere of “Little Prince”: If in Latvia an ensemble has a very varied range of songs, because they have worked with a lot of composers, then they are “Knīpas un knauķi”. “
The anniversary concert will be hosted by Madara Gaile, a veteran of “Knīpas un knauķi”, who has been in the ensemble for 13 years: “There are people who say that their classmates are second mothers and “Knīpas un knauķi” and the society house have been my second home to a greater extent than I have had in school. “
Songs written by many composers for the children’s vocal ensemble “Knīpas un knauķi” have been loved by several generations for fifty years, they are sung in kindergartens and schools, and new concert programs are created every year and new recordings are released.
Jonita Štoma, the director of “Knīpu un knauķu”, believes: “The biggest contribution is the contribution of our songs. We are very happy and fortunate that on the 50th birthday we have released the album “Hedgehog Cauldron” and “Under the Mushroom”. [..] “Knīpas un knauķi” on its birthday gives songs not only to itself, but also to other children in Latvian kindergartens and Latvian schools. “
