Children’s rights are important guidelines for the education department

In her video message on the occasion of the action day, Uta Diers (head of the school department) emphasizes: “Children’s rights are an important guideline for us as the school department of the Arnsberg district government. The effective implementation of these rights is for us a daily task. For me, therefore, democratic education, individual support, a good all-round day and well-managed inclusion are important and indispensable components of the upbringing and education of our children.

Children’s rights are also important in the local administrative district schools: “Every day, these rights are incorporated into the management of our district schools as a basis of values. They form the basis for the education and upbringing of young adults whose actions and deeds are characterized by tolerance, equality and a free democratic attitude,” continued Diers.

background

Children’s rights have been strengthened since 1989 by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It affirms that children have the right to be properly cared for and protected. All countries except the USA – and therefore also Germany – have ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
