COVID 19 has been confirmed by a physician in the Emergency and Observation Department (NMPON) of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital (BKUS). Currently, operational work is being carried out in accordance with the procedures established by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPCC) in close cooperation with the BKUS Infection Control Service and NMPON management, identifying possible contact persons, informs Vita Šteina, BKUS Communication Department.
It is known that the doctor was last in contact at the BKUS NMPON department on June 26. More than 40 employees of the Children’s Hospital and 22 patients have been identified among the possible contacts. No hospital staff member who has been defined as a contact person has symptoms at this time. Contacts will be asked to adhere to self-isolation for 14 days.
The contact persons – patients and their parents are contacted by the SPKC epidemiologist.
The NMPO department of the Children’s Hospital continues to work 24/7 as before, providing emergency care to children.
