Children’s gangs steal money and cell phones

TGM Square and Husovy sady. Places where so-called children’s gangs have been “in office” in recent days. Parties of older children usually look for a younger individual, whom they surround and want a mobile phone or money for him under the threat of violence. Frightened children give them everything they have with them, and unfortunately some out of fear at home do not tell their parents anything.

Talk about bullying at home

“I can confirm that the management of Tábor City Hall, in cooperation with the Police of the Czech Republic and the city police, is seriously dealing with the growing number of crimes against children’s gangs. Police patrols will visit the areas where robberies and attacks take place more, “said Luboš Dvořák, a spokesman for Tábor City Hall.

According to psychologists and police officers, it is necessary for children who become victims to inform their loved ones about the situation. Jana K. from České Budějovice once encountered bullying with her seven-year-old son.

“My son went from school sad, he was scared. He didn’t want to go to school in the morning, he thought his stomach and head ached. And he wanted money every day. He received pocket money for a week. Unfortunately, it took three weeks for him to come alone and tell what was going on. Of course I knew something, but he was afraid to say something. I was also at school, but the teacher didn’t know anything about it, because he was not bullied directly at school, but on the way out of it, “the schoolboy’s mother described her experience.

Report the conflict as soon as possible

If parents find that their child is being harassed, blackmailed or otherwise attacked, they should never take justice into their own hands. And if passers-by see the conflict, they should call the police.

“It doesn’t make sense to play the hero. Any conflict or attack must be reported on lines 156 or 158. The arrival time is a few minutes. It is important to announce the event as soon as possible so that we have a chance to find the perpetrator, “said Jiří Štecher, director of the Tábor police.

However, some juvenile assailants are betting that they are not yet fifteen years old and therefore still not criminally liable.

“We always hand over the event to the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. We try to cooperate with the parents of the attackers, but it always depends on them how he will react to the situation, “he added.
